What if I gave you 1 billion dollars?

1 billion dollarsThis is an interesting exercise that I like to revisit from time to time. I also love to hear how people respond.

Here’s my question to YOU:  So if I gave you 1 billion dollars, in other words enough money so that you would never need to work for a living again, what would you do with your life?

Now, I don’t just want to hear about how you’d travel or buy tons of shoes – those are fine, but what I would really like to know is what your dreams are, the kinds of things you’d work at or risks you’d take if you knew you didn’t have to worry about making a living.

So will you please tell me in the comments section below? I can’t wait to hear about what you would do!

I know this may be hard for some of us, but I think it’s really important to think about.

This is a subject I have thought about, dreamed about , and discussed a lot. I like dreaming. At times I feel like one of those old cartoon where the kids are depressingly poor and they fall asleep, we follow them into their dream that is filled with mountains of sweets! What would I do with a billion dollars. I can boil it down to three main parts. First would be to take a chunk and invest it so that there would always be an income of some sizable amount because it is quite possible to run our of said billion dollars. Second I would begin to share the love. By sharing the love I mean to make my “family by choice” comfortable. Buying a cul-de-sac of homes would be great, with connecting yards where our children could play and be. I would in a sense buy peace of mind for my friends who struggle like me. I seem to have stuck to the principal of birds of a feather stick together, all my friends are rich in character, but poor in bank account. And lastly, I would really splurge and buy an enormous yacht that could more than comfortably house 15+ people. I have always wanted to travel the would, take my children (along with a tutor) to educate them abroad. To follow festivals, and historical events around the world. To learn about history on the soil it took place. Christmas in Paris, New Years in the Swiss Alps. To visit every cheese maker and sample their delicacy. Participate in humanitarian movements around the globe. To live as a citizen of the Earth, and share all with my children and loved ones!
