Sarah Vogel
Attorney, advocate, and author of The Farmer’s Lawyer
The Story:
Sarah was introduced to me through her book (amazing) coach, Leigh Stein, about a year before Sarah’s first book was due to be published. Together, we worked to create a brand strategy, marketing plans, design assets, and a brand new website. We worked together with her entire team from agent to Bloomsbury’s PR and marketing team to not only prepare for the best possible launch, but a sustainable strategy to continue building her career influence for years to come. Sarah is a national treasure! Back in the 80s she was a single mom and attorney whose first trial case was taking the U.S.D.A to court in a class action suit on behalf of farmers. She won and has worked tirely ever since to protect farmers and bring awareness to how crucial they are to our lives. It’s been a true honor to work with Sarah and continue to support her in her mission to improve our world. Her memoir, The Farmer’s Lawyer, is a must-read!
But you don’t have to take my word for it. John Grisham (!) calls it, “remarkably well told and heartfelt” and Library Journal calls it, “An enjoyable true-life legal drama on par with Erin Brockovich.”
2023 Update: The paperback edition included a new foreword by Willie Nelson! We helped with the paperback rollout too.
“Andrea Guevara has been a genius at helping me–a first time author–create a branding strategy. She showed me how to enhance my value as an author and highlighted what made me and my book unique, and she’s even given me a bigger vision of my future as a writer. I now have a cohesive marketing plan that I know will lead to better sales and opportunities. Andrea worked seamlessly with me, my book coach, my agent, and my publisher to make sure everything worked together for the launch of my debut memoir, The Farmer’s Lawyer. When I look at my new website, my new brand designs, my promotional materials, and my overall brand presentation, I am delighted. And, to boot, Andrea is fun and an easy person to work with!“
Dawn Harris Sherling, MD
Internal medicine physician and author
The Story:
Dr. Sherling came to us in preparation for her book launch for Eat Everything: How to Ditch Additives and Emulsifiers, Heal Your Body, and Reclaim the Joy of Food. An accomplished internal medicine physician and mother, Dr. Dawn not only treated a growing number of patients with IBS, Type II Diabetes, and other illnesses, but had a personal experience that prompted her to write this expertly researched yet approachable book. Ahead of the curve, she is one of the pioneers in speaking up about the damage that ultra-processed food and exploitative diet culture is causing us.
We worked together to define her brand as an author, doctor, and thought leader, and put together a cohesive brand strategy for her brand and her book. We developed her brand from scratch including: author brand positioning, deep Ideal Reader knowledge and journey, brand messaging, marketing and branding plans, brand design assets, author website design, email newsletter strategy and implementation, and more. We worked hand-in-hand with her publishing team, publicist, and marketing professionals to implement not only an effective launch but supported post-launch activities as well.
“Thank you also to Andrea Guevara for championing my message and helping me stay on it!“

Alicia A. Wallace
Gender expert, public educator, research consultant & writer
The Story:
Alicia and Andrea met way back in the day at BinderCon and have since worked on several projects together, including two iterations of Alicia’s online brand and websites, as well as logo design. Alicia is a remarkable changemaker whose writing, leadership, and advocacy has brought her world recognition. She is co-director of Equality Bahamas which promotes women’s rights as human rights.
She is down to earth, honest, and powerful. Links to her prolific writing can be found on her website. It’s truly an honor to work with Alicia to match consciously crafted visual design with her important initiatives.
“Working with Andrea is a fantastic experience. She brings the perfect balance of strong expertise and insight and an intuitive, client-centered approach. The consistency of my website design and branding with who I am and what I do makes me confident to invite people to look at my work, knowing that it’s an authentic representation. Andrea went on the branding journey with me, and was patient and thoughtful as we went through the process. For all of my design and troubleshooting needs, I go directly to Andrea because I can’t imagine working with anyone else.”
Emma Nadler
Psychotherapist, author, and speaker
The Story:
Emma Nadler came to work with us in preparation for her debut memoir release, The Unlikely Village of Eden, which bestselling author Adam Grant called, “a truly poignant read that shines a light on the humanity in neurodivergence, the heart of parenting, and the soul of psychotherapy.” Emma’s remarkable, heartfelt, and humorous writing explores the realities of raising a child with a rare genetic condition, while pushing the boundaries of her own perfectionist beliefs about what it means to be a mother, wife, friend, and professional. What unfolds is an unorthodox and life-affirming voyage into what it looks like to live life on purpose and in the ways that make sense to each person, on their own terms.
We worked closely together to craft Emma’s personal author brand, while also creating a strategy for her book, newsletter, and career goals. In addition to brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and marketing and branding plans, we also created Emma’s visual branding, including logo, Substack branding, and author website. In fact, her website was one of our favorite designs of 2023.
“I’m so happy about the work we have done together; it has created an awesome foundation for my work going forward. Also, I adore my website and have gotten so much positive feedback about it.”
Dana Jeri Maier
Artist, cartoonist, and author of Skip to the Fun Parts
The Story:
Talented artist and New Yorker cartoonist, Dana Jeri Maier came to us in preparation for her debut nonfiction book Skip to the Fun Parts: Cartoons and Complaints About the Creative Process. Of course, as a creative and writer, this book and author branding project was especially fun for Andrea. Just look what bestselling author, Mari Andrew had to say about Maier’s book, “Of all the books I’ve ever read on the creative process (and I’ve read every one), this is by far the most useful, for its ability to remind me why we make art in the first place. I know I will turn to it again and again whenever I need to re-ignite the spark of childlike joy that fuels creativity.”
Unlike most of our clients, Dana is an artist and designer, in addition to being a writer, so our work together was focused on brand strategy, brand positioning, messaging, and cohesive branding and marketing plans as Dana had the skill set to design her own assets and author website. We worked closely with Dana, her agent, and publishing and marketing team at Andrews McMeel to make sure Dana had a solid foundation to launch her brand and book!
“Andrea Guevara, thank you for your expertise in developing a branding strategy that is truly insightful. And fun, too! (Seriously, I did not see that part coming!)“

Sarah W. Jaffe
Child welfare advocate, mother & author
The Story:
A former child welfare attorney and advocate, when Sarah Jaffe became a mother, she was troubled by the stark difference between the lives of the children she served versus the lives of children in her everyday parenting life. Sarah came to work with us in preparation for her debut nonfiction parenting book, Wanting What’s Best: Parenting, Privilege, and Building a Just World. We worked together to create a personal brand and polished presence for her platform.
Together, we created Sarah’s author brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and branding and marketing plans as well as a suite of brand visuals including, social media templates, a book club guide, media kit, and so much more, including a full design and build of her author website.
We love being a part of changing the world for the better, one author and book at a time.
“Andrea is amazing at understanding your message and audience, and pulling together all the disparate ideas in your head into a cohesive package. It’s so nice to have a website that I’m proud to send people to and that I know makes me look like the professional I’m aspiring to be.“
Erika Schickel
Author of The Big Hurt
The Story:
Erika reached out before the publication of her second book, the riveting memoir The Big Hurt. We put together a brand strategy, marketing plan, and implemented coordinated branding, media, and marketing efforts with her agent and publisher’s marketing and PR teams.
“One of the smartest things I have ever done professionally was to hire Andrea Guevara in advance of the release of my book, The Big Hurt. She helped me brand and position myself as an author and a thought-leader by helping me identify “idea buckets” within my book and showing me how to tailor the messaging around its themes. She was also so helpful in the nuts-and-bolts business of book promotion. She got this Luddite up to speed on Canva, ConvertKit, and other software programs that helped me get my message out to the world. She streamlined my website and had brilliant ideas for giveaways, and other promotional strategies that helped me build both my mailing list and my readership. I brought her into conversations with my agent and publisher, where she added pure value to the exchanges, impressing everyone with her smarts, professionalism and kindness. Andrea is just so patient and capable in all aspects of what I had hired her to do. On top of all that, she’s just a funny, warm person I am so glad to know. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
Kari O’Driscoll
Author of Truth has a Different Shape and One Teenager at a Time, and Founder of The SELF Project
The Story:
Kari and I began working on her brand strategy and messaging shortly before her memoir was due to be released (also just as the pandemic was ramping up). After completing a thorough brand audit, strategy, messaging, and overall 6-month marketing plan, we dove into creating brand visuals for her two brands that would complement each other but still work well on their own. Then we redesigned her websites: the first for her personal brand and the second for her incredible organization, The SELF Project.
“I loved that Andrea took the time to really get to know me and my goals before making suggestions. We spent a lot of time teasing out how I work, what my passions are, and who I am as a person before talking about how to frame my skills and qualities. It gave me the clarity and confidence to move ahead with what I do best and Andrea did the part of it that I struggle with. I ended up with two absolutely gorgeous websites and a new vision for my work.”
Stephanie Land
The New York Times Bestselling Author of MAID
The Story:
Stephanie came to me when her first book was set to launch in a few months. We worked hand-in-hand to create an author brand that she would be proud to share, utilizing branding strategy, brand messaging, and a branding and marketing plan, as well as visual brand assets in preparation for her book launch, as well as post-launch activities. By launch date, Stephanie had a professional website, clear brand messaging, expert brand positioning, and a plan of action. Her book became an instant New York Times Bestseller too! Her book even inspired the Top 10 Netflix Original Series MAID!
“Andrea has been a CHAMPION and total BADASS in rocking my brand. She single handly took my old website and made absolute magic happen. She is a wonder at branding, at content (some of her content ended up in the book’s cover description), and has basically been a huge part of my team for a couple of years. I highly recommend Andrea Guevara!”
